In the Summer 2025 we made vessels to drink from with local blue- and store-bought clay, and then fired them with ceramacists Lillann Ulverud and Anja Borgersrud later in the Fall. The project seeks to connect and re-connect people with the ground and each other through tactile experiences with clay and fire. Standerholen This site-sensitive performance Lover, låver is rooted in Ringebu Parsonage and Stave Church— drawing on elements of its history and placement in the landscape. Through a physically demanding interaction with red clay, the path from the churchyard wall to the Parsonage’s main house and into the barn—now functioning as an exhibition space for Centre for Ceramic Art —is activated. The choreography is partly based on gestures from traditional ceramics and is performed with raw clay weighing as much as each performer’s own body. The project was sparked by the story of Sigrid Gulbrandsdotter Brandstadkampen, who was executed in 1763, accused of killing her newborn child and hiding the body beneath the church steps. Her fate led me to question the church's control over women like her and explore the tension between emotional labor and physical farm work—those untold stories of women moving between the farm and the church, between the earthly and the sacred.&nbsp; The performance was featured on the opening weekend for CAC 31.05.2025, marking the 5 year anniversary for the centre with the exhibition Kraftoverføring - Sidefortellinger i norsk keramikk fra 1895 - 2025. As part of my installation a film documenting the performance, clay on a wooden platform and risograph prints titled Lover, låver (snor) and Lover, låver (utmatte) are displayed in Trevet. <img from the MFA program at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. It consisted of a series of blue-clay workshops, documentation of these through photo and video, and a temporary clay installation for the graduation show The World is a Knot in Motion curated by Håkon Lillegraven.&nbsp;I placed a wooden platform of two by two meters in the center of a large room by the river at the old Christiania Sailcloth factory, today’s Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and invited participants to work with blue-clay in a workshop series. I provided material that weighted the same as each participant from a local blue-clay deposit outside of Oslo. My aim was to see what happens when two or more people work with blue-clay together. First giving tasks to get familiar with the clay alone, then combining the material and venture on a task together.&nbsp; For the graduation show I reinvited participants to install a temporary clay piece on the wooden platform in Galleri Seilduken. Paulina Stroynowska, Grete Riseng, Beata Daria Kubecka and myself worked the clay mass until it covered the entire surface of the platform. This is an site-sensitive performance for the Annual Craft Exhibition 2023 at the National Museum in Oslo and a variation of the first KJ KN KA that played out earlier that year at my school.&nbsp;In the performance I move a clay-body from Oslo equal my own weight through the public area outside the exhibition space. In addition a risograph print with the score for the performance is presented inside the exhibition.
